Bishop Clara joined members of the park task force, volunteers and children from local schools for the community planting event at the new Chief Cexpe'enthlEm park project.  Thanks so much to everyone involved for all their hard work; it was a great day.  The park is taking shape and will be a great asset for all the community of Lytton.

"Chief Cexpe'enthlEm (also known as Chief David Spintlum) was a Nlaka'pamux leader during the Fraser River Gold Rush. He played a key role in negotiating a peace treaty during the Fraser Canyon War of 1858.  The park project is a partnership between Lytton First Nation, Village of Lytton, Territory of the People Anglican Church and New Pathways to Gold Society. The project will see this historic site landscaped and considerable interpretive signage installed to create a fitting memorial to a leader who is a founder of modern British Columbia."
