I would like to let you know about a project that St Peter's has spearheaded
in collaboration with Gendun Drubpa Buddhist Centre in Williams Lake. The
project came from work and discussions from the Interfaith Group which was
started by St Peter's with a grant from the Anglican Foundation to promote
interfaith understanding and strengthen relations and communication between
people and groups of all faiths in our community.
Gendun Drubpa Buddhist Centre in partnership with St Peter's Anglican Church
are offering a reading group to study Karen Armstrong's book,
"12 Steps to a Compassionate Life"
Each member of the group has been given a copy of the book. We will meet
each month for 13 months and review a chapter each month.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, 9 May 2017 at 6:30 PM at Gendun Drubpa
Buddhist Centre at 212 South 3rd Ave, Williams Lake.
We will be reviewing and discussing chapter 2.
Each meeting will last about 90 minutes.
Our goals are to foster a greater understanding of compassion, identify ways
to regularly practice compassion in personal and public ways and affirm and
act on the Charter for Compassion at charterforcompassion.org
