On June 30, the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), Dr. Bonnie Henry, set out the latest health order related to worship in British Columbia, which has now come into effect.  It was very short and very clear:

There are no capacity limits or restrictions on indoor or outdoor religious gatherings and worship services.

This means we have reached the end of the Provincial Health Officer’s restrictions placed on worship services and liturgies.

On July 9th the Territory Re-Opening plan, approved by your Interim Steering Committee, was distributed to all parishes.  The Plan can be downloaded here and is also attached to this news item.

On August 18th, the govenment released a covid-19 guidance for worship services which can be found here.

Parish clergy are encouraged to meet with wardens and/or parish councils to discuss and discern what realistically can be offered within their parish, at their own comfort level.

Members of the Interim Steering Committee, The Rev. Canon Len Fraser, Chair,  and Melissa Green,  Communications, are available through the Territory office for support for parishes in developing a safe way to re-open their building or with the offering of worship.
