Media Statement from Archbishop Lynne McNaughton
(June 3, 2021)

The Territory of the People and the Anglican Church of Canada have a strictly enforced, zero
tolerance policy in regard to misconduct. Bishop Lincoln Mckoen has been inhibited from
functioning in any ministry role until the matter of allegations about him has been resolved.
Given that allegations are now subject of discipline proceedings by the provincial synod of the
Anglican Church, and given the obligation to ensure that the church conducts those discipline
proceedings fairly, we cannot comment further at this time.

I do clarify, however, that this is absolutely unrelated to the horrific discovery at the Kamloops
Residential School this past week.

Archbishop Lynne McNaughton is the Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of British
Columbia and Yukon and is the Bishop of the Diocese of Kootenay.
