Lych-gate at All Saints Shulus

Lych-gate

A roofed gateway to a churchyard, formerly used during burials for sheltering the coffin until the clergyman’s arrival.

With the help of Phil Dumont and his son Roy we changed out the posts on the lych-gate at All Saints Shulus just prior to Easter on April 5 2026. Two posts were rotted right off, and it was in danger of falling over.

Now it is good for another 50 years, thanks to Phil and Roy.
