Equip 2025: Rooted and Grounded in Love
Equip Conferences in the Territory (biennial conference held on alternating years between Assembly, and a time for learning and relationship building) has been a practice that we have enjoyed for many years, and was interrupted during COVID. This was the first year that we have been able to resume since 2019.
On the weekend of May 23-25th the St. Paul Cathedral became the site of our Equip event, where 33 participants came together with our guest facilitator, the Rev. (Deacon) Elizabeth Short from the Diocese of Calgary. Our time was spent learning about how we experience change and transition and how they are different.
We talked about how important it was to take the time to work through our own inner processes of transition as we adjust to change or new realities. We learned about how there is opportunity for growth and discernment in the in-between times of transition. There were small group discussions and an exercise in brainstorming about what opportunities there may be in our Territory as we consider the future and how we might work together.
The bishop intends to build on what we learned at this conference in the months to come, and looks forward to engaging with parishes on these topics. Deacon Elizabeth was an excellent speaker and facilitator, and someone whom we hope to continue to work with in the future.
