Just a short three and a half years ago, Rev. George Westgate and his family came to live among us in Prince George. Since then, George has faithfully served us at St. Michael’s and Grace church. We are truly grateful for his ministry; and that of his wife Rev. Ann, who also celebrated Eucharist for us on many Sundays. Between both, they served the Anglican churches within the territory of our three majestic waters…….the Nechako, the Fraser and the Quesnel rivers. We thank God for giving them to us for three years and for such beautiful land and rivers for us to worship in together. George and Ann are Christ filled priests who have loved their congregations. We are bereft with them leaving us.
However, the Spirit blows where the Spirit wills, and the Westgate family have now relocated to live down south in Merritt; to serve in three parishes down there, Merritt, Lytton and Shulus.
We say our goodbyes to them, with the traditional Irish blessing;
"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
