Family, friends, parishioners, and clergy colleagues  all descended on St. Alban’s, Ashcroft on the afternoon of Thursday, June 22, for the induction service of the Rev. Linda LaGroix. Her husband Wayne, who was out of town working, made it for the last minute of the service so he can technically say he was there! He did ask us all to do it again but we had sandwiches to eat and celebrating to do.

The service lead by the Very Rev Dr Kyle Norman, Dean of the Cathedral in Kamloops, had many parishioners participate. The gospel was read by Linda’s sister, the Rev. Cindy Corrigan which was a lovely, special part, of the service. There was drumming and singing by David Balcaen and Anne Dunn.

Kathy Paulous presented a Bible

Karyn Bryson presented a vessel of water

Frank Mierau presented the oils

The Rev Deacon Lois Petty presented a copy of the Canons

Karen Rooke presented the keys to the church Fred Dewick presented prayer books

Diana Henstock presented the bread a wine

Pastoral Elder for the Territory, Amy Charlie, was on hand to bestow a greeting and a blessing to Linda on behalf of the Pastoral Elders.

The service was followed by a reception that had many delicious treats.   Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success.
