Priest (3/4-time) for St. George’s, Kamloops
The Bishop of the Territory of the People is seeking to appoint an Incumbent in a ¾ time position for St George’s parish in Kamloops. BC. The position will involve a five-year commitment with two worship services on a Sunday morning with some flexibility on hours of employment. A trained team of laity gives leadership when the Incumbent is not available.
We seek a seminary trained, ordained priest who is a gifted leader. They will help members engage in attracting new families and engaging younger people in the life of the parish. The Incumbent will lead worship and sacramental ministry; they will visit and provide pastoral care as required; a key responsibility will involve the training, enabling, and support of parish lay leadership. The priest will assist the congregation in deepening their faith and foster their understanding of mission to more fully realize their shared and individual baptismal vocations. Outreach to local community by developing a stronger connection with the neighbourhood and assisting the parish to address a new music ministry are important aspects of the position.
Clergy from the wider church must present confirmation that they are a priest in good standing and have their bishop’s permission to seek employment opportunities outside of their own diocese. A current Criminal Records Check must be submitted with the application.
A Parish Profile is available now. Applications should be made by March 12, 2019 Interested clergy are invited to contact:
