Together, Into A New Creation

is the theme set for our upcoming Assembly on May 26 -28 at the Comfort Inn in Merritt. Our host team from St Michael’s Merritt and Scw’exmx Parish are preparing for our arrival (details below) and are looking forward to hosting us in their beautiful part of our territory.

The Pastoral Elders and Bishop Barbara have met and the selection of Indigenous Delegates has been made.

All the reports will be available soon to all delegates. The reports are full of the story highlighting the mission and ministry we have been engaged in over the past two years and helping us look ahead into the future.

The final work on the new Territorial Constitution is underway and will be presented to the Assembly for ratification bringing us into a new creation as the Territory of the People.

Bishop Barbara asks us all to hold in our prayers the upcoming Assembly and all who will gather to make decisions for our common life together as we journey into a new creation together.

CONCERNING ARRIVALS

St. Michael's, Merritt, and Scw'exmx Parish, Nicola Valley, will greet delegates and guests at the Game On Pub next to the Comfort Hotel (where the assembly is being held) from 3 p.m. It is an excellent place for dinner and prices are reasonable. We have reserved tables and will be easy to find.

Meanwhile the two parishes will also greet everyone at the registration desk in the lobby of the hotel.

Later Friday evening the two parishes will host a wine and cheese event in the hotel.

And of course, on Sunday the Nicola Valley Parish will host Holy Eucharist at the Shulus Arbour with lunch to follow. Box lunches will also be available for those wishing to hit the road after the service.
